Optimisation of production, testing and supply chain means delivery times of less than 8 weeks for Eaton's PVM pump
To respond to the needs of its European customers, Eaton has localised the assembly and testing of its Vickers PVM pump at its Wehrheim facility in Germany. This change has significantly reduced the lead time for the most popular PVM builds to less than eight weeks when ordered in small or medium quantities.
John Taylor, EMEA Product Manager for Open Circuit Piston Pumps says: "As a result of our ongoing production and supply chain optimisation efforts, we expect to further decrease the delivery time during 2012."
At the same location, a dedicated application engineering support team provides testing capabilities and rapid follow-up in case of technical support requirements. John Taylor says: "Our new supply and service offering enables our customers to react with greater flexibility and speed to the demands of their customers and thus be more competitive."
Eaton's Vickers PVM pump is a versatile medium-pressure open-circuit variable piston pump with displacement between 18 and 141 cm3 aimed at industrial applications up to 280bar continuous pressure. It is widely used in industrial power units, and it has also been successfully applied to marine and transport applications, where low noise is critical. In addition, its ATEX certification offers the possibility to use the Vickers PVM pump in potentially explosive atmospheres for oil & gas and mining applications.
