Electrex 2008 - exhibition preview

Power Electrics (Bristol) www.powerelectrics.com, which describes itself as the UK's leading independent supplier of specialist generators, will be showcasing its impressive capabilities. Whether the requirement is for instant response with a generator to maintain backup power, rental of a standard or specialised unit, or a complete turnkey project, PE can deliver. PE offers generators rated from 5-2200kVA as single units or large multi-set parallel systems for high power or high availability (N + 1) to meet the needs of the rental and sales markets. The company's parts and maintenance divisions support this extensive range of generator systems with exceptional customer service. PE is a main dealer for FG Wilson, which designs and manufactures standard and customised gensets rated from 5-2200kVA or more. Fluke (UK) www.fluke.co.uk will be exhibiting an extensive range of test and measurement instruments for electrical applications. Featured on the stand will be the Fluke 1650 series multifunction installation testers that are ready for the 17th edition of the wiring regulations: these products are claimed to set the standard for this class of tester for industrial, commercial and domestic (Part P) installations. Also on display will be the Fluke 6200 and 6500 portable appliance testers (PAT) that feature all the required tests necessary to comply with revisions to the IET code of practice that come into force in 2008. Fluke will also have a wide range of other test tools on show, including its latest thermal imagers and IR thermometers, Fluke VR1710 voltage quality recorders, digital insulation testers that deliver multiple test voltages, DMMs and clamp meters.

Anamet Europe www.anamet.nl will be showing flexible cable protection products designed to deliver robust cable protection in industrial environments. Liquid-tight (IP67) conduits with steel cores and elastomer covers meet a variety of requirements from extreme oil resistance to high-temperature operation. Stainless steel flexible tubes protect instrument cables and optical fibre light guides from damage in challenging applications. Nylon corrugated conduit systems provide high flexibility in machinery cabling systems with easy-connect push-on fittings to speed assembly times. At Electrex Anamet will show an extensive range of high-temperature cable sleeving products developed for foundries and steelworks. Hiprojacket offers protection to cables and hoses from damage caused by molten metal splash and intense thermal radiation. Rated at 260 degrees C continuous, Hiprojacket offers 20-minute resistance at 1000 degrees C, thereby improving margins of safety in extreme temperature situations.

C3 Limited www.c3-ltd.com will be exhibiting its range of electrical cables and components. The ranges include cables and connectors for high-flexibility dynamic applications with UL/CSA and CE approvals, cables suitable for servo motors, encoders and resolvers, a full range of Interbus, Profibus , DeviceNet and CANbus cables, and an extensive range of moulded cord sets. Express Instrument Hire www.expresshire.net will be exhibiting the latest handheld thermal imaging cameras from Flir Systems. Flir offers an extensive selection of infrared cameras, as well as exceptional post-sales technical support, training and customer service. Products range from the high-quality, low-cost InfraCAM to the latest feature-rich T-Series IR cameras.

Task Lighting www.westelettric.com will be exhibiting the full range of harsh environment industrial lighting manufactured by Italian company Westelettric srl. Many new products will be exhibited for the first time in the UK; these include the compact LW series as well as the new 40x40mm light fittings. These provide IP67 protection with minimum space requirement. The lights are available in 24V DC, 24V AC, 110V 50/60 Hz and 230V 50/60 Hz. Also on show will be the standard sealed tube ranges, in both 60mm diameter and 70mm diameter, along with floodlighting, hand lamps and adjustable halogen models. Other non-lighting products on display will include examples of Westelettric's rubber enclosure and mains distribution products and transformer housings.

Lasnek www.lasnek.com will be exhibiting a range of traditional stainless steel cable management products including trunking, conduit, trays and wire basket. In addition, a range of sloped-top enclosures and application-specific trunking will be on display, demonstrating Lasnek's bespoke application capability. To complement the Lasnek standard range of stainless steel terminal and pushbutton boxes, enhancements to the isolator, wire basket, ladder and enclosure ranges will be shown, suitable for installations with the highest hygienic and aesthetic requirements.
