Element Neutrino analytical transmitters are more versatile

Burkert is launching Element Neutrino analytical transmitters as the latest additions to its range of Element clean line, stainless steel products for total loop process control - hygienic or aggressive. These new units, the 8202 (for pH or redox potential) and 8222 (for conductivity) combine high performance with economy. Versatile in use, they are designed for operation with different sensor types for use across a wide variety of applications where measurement of pH, ORP or conductivity is required.

Element Neutrino analytical transmitters are more versatile

The Neutrino analytical transmitters are the latest building block in Burkert's family of Element modular process control products. Element is a complete systems approach, linking clean line valves, sensors, positioners and valve actuators in an intelligent architecture to provide complete control loops. With unlimited modularity, Element saves processing time by providing control for media from slurries to steam, and from de-ionised water to hydrochloric acid.

Burkert's new Neutrino transmitters offer OEMs economy by providing a lower-cost alternative to Element transmitters that incorporate displays and keypads. They feature a patented variable electrical connection for pH electrodes, making it possible to use most pH electrodes with a 12mm diameter and an S7 connection. As a result, users enjoy greater flexibility, as a single standard transmitter can be used for all applications within the system. Moreover, the option of selecting from three cell constants (0.01, 0.1 or 1) for measuring conductivity ensures maximum versatility when exchanging sensors, as well as easy adaptability to the required task. The overall benefits resulting from this versatility are reduced inventory costs and administrative requirements, together with improved product life cycle.

Also adding to the functionality and accuracy of the Neutrino transmitters is an integrated pt1000 sensor, which provides internal temperature compensation. The temperature value provided by the sensor is delivered as a second process variable in the transmitter, and can also be output as 4-20mA signal. This eliminates the requirement for a separate temperature sensor, as well as the additional costs for its installation and operation.

Both the 8202 and 8222 Neutrino transmitters are said to be simple to use; they are supplied with a key for selecting the required measuring mode, and offer measuring range selection with 16-position multipoint switch and allocated ranges, together with the facility for one-point and two-point calibration for pH and ORP. Monitoring for calibration processes, device status, warning and alarms, is provided via an integrated LED status display.
