Inmoco is expanding its Elmo Drum line of digital servo drives with the launch of Gold Drum HV. This is a 100A/800V, high-power, super compact, direct-to-mains drive, designed for the highest level of motion control application requirements. In terms of power output it extends the Drum range from 62kW up to 65kW.
As well as increasing the power range, the Gold Drum HV also introduces advanced features including sophisticated networking, built-in safety and high power density. These are combined with a fully featured motion controller and local intelligence capability.
Used in conjunction with Elmo's Gold Maestro motion controller, state-of-the-art systems for the most challenging multi-axis motion applications can be easily implemented, with a short development cycle.
The ultra compact size envelope of the Gold Drum HV belies its power and the 99 per cent efficiency of its vector-controlled sinusoidal commutation. Its wide current, velocity and position bandwidth means it is flexible in use and can be specified with confidence. To enhance dynamic performance and match the needs of demanding applications' advanced tuning, filtering and gain scheduling options are provided as standard.
In motion control systems it supports a wide variety of feedback sensors in single, dual and gantry loop configurations. Networking is deterministic and based on either EtherCAT or CANopen, with set up and tuning made easy through the use of software tools available in the Elmo Application Studio. This Windows-based application enables users to quickly and simply configure the servo drive for optimal use with their motor.
Complying with all relevant safety and EMC standards, the Gold Drum HV extends the applicability of the Drum to the most demanding arenas. For further details go to www.inmoco.co.uk.
