The new enclosures from Norstat are aimed at the industrial automation and machine-building marketplace – or for applications where increased temperature loads or potential fire risks are possible.

These enclosures are constructed of flame-retardant and self-extinguishing polycarbonate with UL94 V-0/5VA approval and are said to comply with the highest classification regarding the fire resistance of plastics.

The MBX series is also described as “one of the most rugged plastic enclosures on the market”, with a protection rating of IP69 and an impact resistance of IK10.

“The three MBX versions fully meet the requirements of demanding applications, such as railway technology, agriculture technology and ship building,” adds Norstat.

“All versions offer excellent protection for sensitive electronics and are superior to aluminum enclosures in applications where an increased risk of corrosion is present.”
