Endless opportunities in conveyor design

MachineBuilding.Live 2024 at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham, included a world-class Workshop Programme. Here, Matthew Harris, business development manager at Lenze UK, unveils a new motor driven roller technology that could address key challenges in conveying and logistics.

Endless opportunities in conveyor design

The new motor driven roller technology based on the Vernier principle could address key challenges with conveying and logistics, promising less complexity, fewer variants, more efficiency, more power, faster commissioning and easier maintenance. The direct drive permanent magnet motor provides a magnetic gearing effect, enabling high torque and low speeds like a conventional motor, but with significantly less noise.

By watching this video, you will learn how logistics operations can improve operational efficiency, how users can save up to 30% in energy usage, how the low voltage MDR addresses growing skilled labour shortages, how it reduces stress in busy working environments, and how warehouses can reduce spares inventory.
