Stanton Engineering has received the ISO 9001:2000 standard for demonstrating its efficiency in dealing with the flow of customer documentation, maintaining effective internal communication channels, and for the company infrastructure.
Moreover, the company hopes the accreditation, awarded by Quality Management Systems (QMS) according to criteria set down by the British Standards Institute (BSI), will enable it to bring in business from different sectors.
Managing Director Ben Stanton (on the left in the photograph) says: "The accreditation is indicative of our company philosophy, because it is only awarded to firms who offer a professional service. Less than 5 per cent of businesses have this accreditation in the UK.
"The QMS audit looks at how well documentation is managed within the company, such as how they deal with the design process from conception to completion, as well as things like the procurement process and staff training.
"Some sectors, for example the rail industry, will only deal with firms with this accreditation, so we are now in a stronger position when pitching for that business."
Stanton Engineering is a broad-based consultancy offering services related to electrical and mechanical engineering. The company operates in a range of industries, including manufacturing and construction, and has clients around the country, such as MITIE Engineering Group and the RHM Group.
