Eriks wins MRO contract from Prysmian Cables & Systems

Prysmian Cables & Systems has awarded a three-year, single-supplier MRO contract to Eriks' Integrated Solutions Division to cover its Wrexham site. Eriks says that the contract, worth in excess of 400,000 per year, consolidates its market-leading position as the supplier of choice for dedicated on-site MRO services.

By deploying a dedicated resource into the Wrexham manufacturing site, Eriks Integrated Solutions (IS) division will provide a range of services including procurement, engineering stores management, inventory reduction and the delivery of operational cost savings.

With sales exceeding EUR3.7billion in 2009, the Prysmian Group is a leading global manufacturer of high-technology cables and systems for energy and telecommunications. In the UK, Prysmian manufactures energy cables from low-voltage to extremely high-voltage for land applications. And from its position within the Global Prysmian group, Prysmian UK can offer turnkey submarine cables and installation services as well as a comprehensive range of industrial cables for applications including mining, cranes, wind turbines and rail.

Eriks Integrated Solutions (IS) is a dedicated division and resource within Eriks UK that provides maintenance procurement and logistics to major UK companies. It takes responsibility for running the stores and keeping all the production equipment and buildings running smoothly. Based on a structured cost maintenance contract, it is up to Eriks IS to use every predictive maintenance technique and repair service available to it through the group in order to meet client KPIs, based on minimising downtime, maximising equipment availability and reducing energy consumption among others.

The turnover is currently over 100m putting it clearly ahead as the leading UK Integrated Services supplier to manufacturing industry n the UK. Its logistical and manpower resources, plus the enormous number of maintenance products and cutting-edge maintenance services and techniques are leveraged throughout the Eriks group.
