ESAB Demobus attends Truflame Welding Equipment open day
Truflame Welding Equipment Ltd, a welding equipment specialist based in the historical heartland to the UK's steel industry, has held an open day, with the ESAB Demobus providing visitors with the opportunity to see live demonstrations of the latest equipment and techniques. Truflame Welding Equipment Ltd was established over 40 years ago by the owner and managing director Steve Gavins. The company now employs over 20 staff and operates out of purpose-built premises on Newhall Road, Sheffield. This location means that Truflame is well placed to service an extensive customer base that currently covers the length and breadth of the UK.
Gavins, who runs the business with his son Chris, comments: "The open day was a resounding success, attracting over 500 visitors over the two-day event; at times we seemed to be inundated with customers but we all pulled together and, with help from the ESAB team, everyone was looked after.
"The ESAB Demobus was amazing, being built into the body of a 50-foot articulated lorry with extending side pods. It was like a tardis inside, loaded with welding equipment, accessories and safety equipment - there was even a demonstration area offering live demonstrations of the equipment. All in all, everybody seemed very impressed with the facilities available on both the bus and our premises.
"We operate a very proactive business here at Truflame, servicing a vast array of customers from the construction industry, the railways, steelworks, demolition, Rolls Royce Aerospace and even the nuclear industry, and we supply all of these people with an array of ESAB products including plant and machinery, safety equipment and consumables."
