Powder product packaging machine manufacturer Arodo has reduced waste, optimised processes and capitalised on time efficiencies by introducing lubricated Lubrinox fasteners supplied from Fabory, unlocking product quality and efficiency benefits.
Arodo, a Belgium-based manufacturer of powder packaging machinery, had experienced issues from using stainless steel components to assemble its manufacturing equipment.
Using non-lubricated stainless steel bolts in its machines resulted in galling issues that required the use of greases and lubricants, which proved time-consuming and created issues around cleaning, potentially compromising equipment often used in vacuum packing environments.
Arodo also reported high waste levels from using non-lubricated bolts which became damaged and needed replacing, adding to cost levels in their operations.
Established in 1989, Arodo specialises in the design of packing systems for complete packing lines and manufactures dosing, weighing, bagging, palletising and stretch hood systems.
Arodo says: "We have dedicated ourselves to the development and production of customer-specific powder packaging lines for producers of high-quality powders. It is thanks to this unique focus that we can now call ourselves the market leader."
Cutting greases and lubricants from machine assembly
Arodo required a fastening solution which would cut the need for greases and lubricants being used to tackle galling in stainless steel assemblies. The solution needed to be suitable for a controlled, hygienic manufacturing environment while reducing maintenance time.
Since Lubrinox has been supplied direct to Arodo significant drops in the need to clean lubricants from fasteners has been noticed, as Lubrinox fasteners are supplied precoated, clean, dry and ready to install.
The move has led to the elimination of the greasing process from the production line while enabling smooth connection and disconnection of stainless steel components.
Orders are placed by Arodo through Fabory Logic, Fabory's effective digital inventory management system, which provides solutions to ensure the availability and reliability of fasteners and C-parts, offering insight into customer consumption through dashboards.
One Arodo technician said: "All our stainless steel bolts are now Lubrinox, which has made a big difference from using dry bolts."
Partnership based on strong support
With Arodo using stainless steel bolts throughout the equipment they produce, they rely on Fabory to supply consistent levels to maintain production.
Since moving to Lubrinox, Arodo reports reductions in the number of bolts being damaged, process simplification, plus savings in time and money associated with tackling galling with stainless steel fasteners.
Harrie Hendriks, Arodo Supply Chain Engineer, said: "We would recommend Lubrinox because of the difference made by its lubrication coating to our food machines. "Since we use Lubrinox bolts in our food machines we experience the need for less cleaning and handling compared to using non-lubricated bolts. With dry bolts we would have to manually use lubrication which added time and money, as well as the chance of damage."
Fabory account manager Martijn Treffers added: "Partnering with Arodo to implement Lubrinox fasteners showcases how we address genuine operational challenges in powder packaging environments. Seeing them eliminate galling issues and reduce waste through our pre-lubricated solution has been incredibly rewarding. This collaboration exemplifies our dedication to providing fastening innovations that enhance both manufacturing efficiency and equipment reliability."
