A new type of torsional flexible coupling, N-EUPEX DK, has been added to the modular principle of the FLENDER N-EUPEX flexible coupling from jbj Techniques, offering improved performance and increased bore capacity
Increased performance
Said to be well suited to pump applications, the performance of all coupling types in the N-EUPEX series from jbj Techniques has been increased by an average of 30 percent. This allows designers to transmit higher torque and achieve a higher rotation speed, something that jbj says is guaranteed for all types.
Higher bore capacity
In addition to the enhanced performance now offered, the bore capacity of the hubs has also increased, by up to 25 percent. Due to the larger bore size/capacity and increased performance, designers can now obtain the same performance from a smaller coupling size, allowing machine design to be downsized where needed. The change in size is accompanied by a reduction in purchasing cost too.
NEW TYPE: N-EUPEX DK
With the new double-cardanic design, the coupling compensates for a greater range of shaft angle offsets and also provides a considerably greater radial offset. This means that shaft ends can be connected in a manner that offers the drive greater protection. Further, with this two-joint version, compensation for radial offset occuring between the shaft ends is enabled by a corresponding angle of inclination in the elastomer joints.
This increases the range of possible radial offsets by more than a multiple of four. Especially with pump solutions, shaft ends that are not 100% in alignment previously presented significant problems, but in this case, the N-EUPEX DK provides a solution for many of these because (depending on the coupling length and size), it enables compensation for a radial offset of up to 3 mm.
