Flexx-IPC: resistive touchscreen panel PC with IP65/NEMA rating

Input device specialist Hoffmann + Krippner is introducing a new touchscreen panel PC for use in a wide variety of industrial applications that demand rugged design combined with high-quality hardware. Designated as the Flexx-IPC-L-T Advanced, this new range has been developed in a direct response to customer needs for long life and flexibility. Featuring IP65/NEMA rating as standard, the Flexx-IPC-L-T Advanced is suitable for deployment where the PCs need to be protected from moisture and liquids or the front panels need to be regularly washed down.

Unlike capacitive technology devices, resistive touchscreen technology can be operated efficiently in environments where gloves need to be worn due to the manufacturing process. This allows for reliable input of critical manufacturing parameters. Typical uses will see the new range being adopted in industrial, food processing, medical, pharmaceutical and automotive manufacturing facilities.

Flexx-IPC-L-T Advanced industrial PCs combine a 15-inch resistive touchscreen with extensive I/O connectivity and a variety of processor and memory configurations. As well as customising the software, hardware and touchscreen, system builders and integrators can specify turnkey front panel designs to further enhance human-machine interface (HMI) and system "˜look and feel' in accordance with customer-, application- or environment-specific requirements. Custom options include the addition of company branding and logos, the specification of colour schemes and the labelling of individual keys to specific customer and application requirements.

Based on a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, with power consumption as low as 20W and up to 32GB of solid state Flash storage, the Advanced model is optimised to deliver an excellent power/performance ratio. Flexx-IPC-L-T is supplied with Microsoft Windows Compact 7 (CE7) as standard, with Options for Windows 7 and Windows 7 Embedded standard.

A datasheet for the Flexx-IPC-L-T Advanced touchscreen panel PC range is available for download at www.flexx-ipc.com/download.html.
