All Flir uncooled, handheld thermal imaging cameras for plant maintenance and building applications are now subject to a 100 per cent increase on their standard warranty. Upon on-line registration, a qualifying Flir camera will now have two years of cover on the entire unit. This is in addition to a ten year warranty on the uncooled microbolometer detector.
This move is indicative of the company's confidence in both the efficiency of its designs and the quality of its manufacture. It has been producing thermal imaging cameras for more than 50 years and the Flir brand is now known for advanced technology and reliability.
The same applies to the microbolometer detectors. For many years Flir has been making its own high-quality detector cores, latterly in sufficiently high quantity to pass on manufacturing economies to camera customers. Indeed, as Flir also produces its own optics, it is said to have the highest level of vertical integration in the thermal imaging market. This ensures that all of the vital elements in the camera carry the same Flir quality standard.
Andy Baker, Flir's UK and Ireland Sales Manager, states: "It is all about making sure our customers get the very best return on their investment. Our new warranty policy underlines our commitment to providing added-value support. Customers now rely heavily on our thermal imaging technology and it is very important that they know, if something does go wrong, we are there to put it right."
