Flow controller offers two-stage batch control
Low-cost batch control, blending or tank-filling of chemicals, food ingredients, beverages, fuels and solvents by the rugged Titan Metra-Batch plant- or panel-mounted controller offers two-stage batch control and automatic over-run compensation. The eight-digit batch display is selectable to count either up or down, in engineering units, or can show the current flow rate, or total product consumption on a password-protected accumulator, as well as the number of batches delivered. The unit can transmit totaliser and flow rate data for remote monitoring.
Flow sensors are selectable to suit the application; Titan manufactures turbine flowmeters and positive displacement flowmeters. The Titan FT2 turbine flowmeters are constructed with a chemically resistant PPS body, using robust sapphire bearings; 10 flow ranges cover flows from 0.01-160L/min, at up to 15bar and 80degC. The rugged Titan OG series oval gear meters are high-accuracy positive displacement flowmeters, offering excellent performance over a wide operating range, even in hazardous areas, or high pressure and temperature conditions.
OG meters are suitable for hydraulic fluids, lubricating oil, fuels and solvents, and are used in engine test applications, blending systems and chemical plants. Linearities of +/-0.25 per cent and flow ranges of 200:1 are easily achieved with lubricating fluids, over flow ranges from 0.01-500L/min. The OG series meters are suitable for use in hazardous areas, or for applications where high pressures or temperatures are expected. Body materials available include stainless steel, aluminium, Hastelloy and PEEK engineering plastic, covering all corrosive applications. In some cases it is possible to fit transparent acrylic lids to allow a simple visual flow check.
