Force rebalance accelerometer offers long-term stability

Inertial Aerosystems is launching a force rebalance accelerometer that is designed for industrial applications. Designated the QA-650, it incorporates the established Q-Flex etched quartz proof flexure seismic system. An amorphous quartz proof mass structure provides excellent bias, scale factor and axis alignment.

Force rebalance accelerometer offers long-term stability

Integral electronics develop an acceleration-proportional output, with current providing both static and dynamic acceleration measurements up to 30g. With an appropriately scaled output resistor, the output current can be converted into a voltage. This product has long-term stability, low noise and excellent long-term bias repeatability.

The operating temperature range is from -55 to +96degC with shock resistance exceeding 100g and vibration of 25g peak sine @ 5-500Hz. Weighing only 65g maximum with a diameter of 26.54mm and a height of 15.67mm, it is suitable for use where space and weight must be minimised. Operating supply is +/-13 to +/-18V DC.

This versatile product has applications in automotive test instrumentation, braking system deceleration, bridge and building movement monitoring, industrial and robotics control, land vehicle navigation, trains and track testing, and offshore drilling platform motion monitoring. It is particularly suited to use in GPS/INS navigation systems.
