Framos expands portfolio of machine vision components

Cameras

Four lines of cameras are being added to the Framos portfolio, covering both colour and monochrome requirements. These four are as follows:

SVS-Eco: extremely compact (38 x 38 x 45mm) yet fully featured, these cameras deliver 5 megapixel VGA images at 150Fps. Other notable features include general-purpose I/O, UART communications and a wide input voltage range of 10-25V DC.

SVS-CF: these cameras offer VGA at 400Fps to 5 megapixels at 20Fps. There are CameraLink and GigEVision versions based around Kodak and Sony CCDs.

SVS-SLC: these SLC (side-looking cameras) benefit from similar sensors to the CF range but in side-looking format in a new GigE housing.

SVS-HR: with a choice of 4, 8, 11 and 16 megapixel models, these Kodak large-format CCD-based cameras are offered with CameraLink or GigEVision, plus they feature 14-bit ADC and a 12-bit output. The M42 mount is standard, though C and F mounts are available as an option.

Lighting

LED lighting from Falcon LED is now available in the UK exclusively through Framos. Standard products include coaxial, direct ring, low-angle ring, backlights, diffused and line lighting in red, green, blue, white, infrared and ultraviolet - plus custom lighting can be manufactured to order. Pricing is said to be very competitive and delivery is typically within 2-3 weeks.

Software and capture hardware

Framos is now representing Eurosys, which develops image processing software and capture hardware, throughout Europe. Products supported by Framos include OpenVision, eVision (a legacy system), GrabLink, Picolo and Domino.

Aside from the new developments outlined above, Framos remains a distribution partner for Toshiba-Teli, Lumenera, Vision & Control, Tamron, Pentax, Fujinon and Northwire.
