The Profibus Group is organising a free seminar covering Functional Safety and IT Security for automated manufacturing, aimed primarily at engineers involved in the design, installation and maintenance of automation systems using Profibus, Profinet and PROFIsafe. Presented by experts from The Profibus Group, the event will take place at the Profibus International Competence Centre at Manchester Metropolitan University on 12 May 2011.
This one-day seminar addresses the key safety and security issues arising from the use of digital communications technologies in automated manufacturing and advanced engineering applications. Covering key application areas such as packaging, printing, electrical and electronics assembly, robotics, automotive engineering, drives, mechanical handling and logistics, control systems and energy management, it focuses on the safety aspects of system design and operations. Supported by live demonstrations and case studies, the event will be of value to designers, production engineers and system engineers involved in design, operation and maintenance of modern automated factories and machinery.
Planned presentations include:
The event will also provide delegates with an excellent networking opportunity and the ability to speak to the experts in attendance.
