G22 gearbox offers maximum output torque of 162,000Nm

David Brown and its sister company Benzlers have recently improved the series G industrial gearboxes range with the introduction of an additional size G22. The series G gearbox is now available in eight sizes up to 1860kW capacity, with the same high-performance characteristics of the rest of the range.

The G22 has been introduced as a result of extensive research conducted between the company and its worldwide customer base. It has been designed to incorporate the same customer-focused benefits that are a feature of the other sizes in the range, ensuring that the product provides excellent lifetime with little maintenance through the combination of high-quality components, high-specification sealing and a split-case design.

Maximum output torque available in the series G range has now been increased from 130,000Nm to 162,000Nm.

Improved cooling

A further development of the series G range has seen the introduction of a fan and cowl design, which has improved the thermal ratings and enables the gear units to run cooler. Suitable for the medium- to heavy-duty engineering market, the series G gearboxes are available in parallel shaft helical units and right-angle shaft bevel/helical units in double, triple and quadruple reduction gear stages.

Chris Morrell, General Manager of Standard Products, comments: "This latest development continues David Brown and Benzlers's commitment to providing a smarter range of products with real benefits for the customer. This development continues the policy of our business to continually extend our product range offering in strategic areas, allowing our distributor partners access to an ever increasing share of the market, whilst ensuring the products have features which enable them to sell real product differentiators against our competitors."
