GB Innomech celebrates 21 years of advanced automation
GB Innomech has celebrated 21 years of business success with a dinner at Queens' College, Cambridge. The company specialises in the design and development of advanced automation systems to improve manufacturing efficiency and costs
David Beale, technical director and business founder, commented: "Everyone at tonight's celebration has played a key role in bringing Innomech to where it is today. Our engineering, operations, commercial and management teams have never been stronger; in 2009 we secured The Queen's Award for Enterprise for international trade; and we are extremely well positioned to make 2011 a record year for the business."
Innomech specialises in automating highly complex and labour-intensive manufacturing processes, working predominantly in the pharmaceutical, medical device and environmental sectors. However, when the business started in 1990 the first project was a one-off system for British Aerospace (now BAE Systems) that could uniquely laser mark electrical cables without damaging the outer sheath. Today the company regularly uses a number of core technologies, including laser marking and cutting, robotics, vision systems, and weighing and dosing.
While still designing one-off systems for use in production and research and development environments, and also providing repeat builds when required, Innomech also offers a full factory support service. This approach, used by Capsugel and other international companies, enables clients to focus on the sales and marketing of their products while Innomech takes full responsibility for series manufacture, as well as installation, fulfilling customer service agreements and providing on-going support.
