Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now shipping the Geniuno 101 from Intel and Arduino. The Genuino 101 is the first widely available learning and development board based on the Intel Curie module, delivering Intel performance with the simplicity of Arduino for entry-level makers and education environments. In addition, with native Bluetooth and sensor capabilities, the Genuino 101 is suited for prototyping wearable, Internet of Things (IoT), and mobile applications.
The Intel Genuino 101 features a 32-bit Intel Quark microcontroller; 384kBytes of flash memory; and 80kBytes of SRAM, with 24kBytes available for sketches - programs written using the Arduino integrated development environment (IDE). The Intel toolchain compiles the sketches across the Intel Quark core and 32-bit ARC architecture to accomplish the most demanding tasks. The board also includes an integrated DSP sensor hub, Bluetooth Low Energy radio, and six-axis combo sensor with accelerometer and gyroscope for connected motion-detection projects.
Intel's Genuino 101 comes with 20 general-purpose input/output (GPIO) pins: 14 digital I/O pins (with four capable of being PWM outputs) and six analogue inputs. The board also includes a USB connector for serial communication and sketch upload, a power jack, dedicated I2C pins, and an ICSP header with SPI signals. The board's operating voltage and I/O is 3.3V, with 5V overvoltage protection for all pins. The Genuino 101 fits the form factor of the Genuino Uno, enabling experimentation with Genuino and third-party shields.
