WDS Components has expanded its range of stainless steel hand knobs to include hundreds of sizes in various styles with up to 93 sizes per individual model, including inch-size threads
316 stainless steel, sometimes referred to as ‘food grade’ steel, means rust-free use in the most demanding and corrosive environments and WDS’ stainless steel hand knobs are assembled in-house at the company’s Leeds facility. WDS says that this means it can rapidly match thread lengths and handles to meet the desired order volume in a very short space of time, and with same-day dispatch available with flexibility extending to order volumes from a single unit to multiple thousands, with no upper limit.
There are six styles available including tri-knobs, T-knobs, standard four-pointed knobs, wing knobs, mushroom knobs and lobed knobs, and all styles carry between 29 and 93 sizes each in thread sizes that range between M4 and M12. Inch-size threads are also available in a wide range for North American OEMs and end users, as well as manufacturers that supply into the region. Male and female thread sizes are also available.
WDS’ 316 stainless steel hand knobs are designed for use in food & beverage applications, pharmaceutical production and are also well suited to challenging environments such as the marine sector. With 316 stainless steel including molybdenum, it makes the material particularly resilient to corrosion in chloride environments, and WDS says that its hand knobs can be used under regular washdown with caustic cleaning agents as well as saline environments.
WDS stainless steel hand knobs are commonly used in industrial applications, but as a result of the appealing designs and highly polished finish, the company states that their use is also growing in commercial and residential settings too. In addition to machinery, the hand knobs are said to be well suited to indoor applications including kitchen drawers & handles, bathrooms, boats, doors and cupboards. The knobs feature a crevice-free design that prevents build up of bacteria and improves the ease and effectiveness of wash down.
The company also offers design assistance through its Customer Support team, as well as its website which includes resources including CAD drawings, 3D non-specialist images and full specifications.
