Hannover Messe 2019: where Industrie 4.0 meets AI

Hannover Messe is a key driver behind the digital transformation of industry and the energy sector. Every year takes us another step forward in this direction. The keynote theme for 2019 is "Integrated Industry - Industrial Intelligenc". What this means in practice is the digital networking of man and machine in the age of artificial intelligence.

Hannover Messe 2019: where Industrie 4.0 meets AI

Dr Jochen Kckler, Chairman of the Board at Deutsche Messe says: "Artificial intelligence has the potential to revolutionise industry and the energy sector. Humans are teaching machines to behave in a logical and purpose-driven manner in order to meet customer needs. AI systems generate knowledge, and today they are already capable of continuously optimising operating conditions on the basis of data and algorithms, or reliably anticipating errors and disruptions - in production processes, in the power grid, or in logistics. Hence the keynote theme for this year's show: "Integrated Industry - Industrial Intelligenc".

The networking of man, machine and data is achieved via shared platforms, where knowledge is exchanged and augmented. The role of humans is that of enablers. Future production will still be reliant on their process know-how and their diverse skills. Data gathering, data analysis, machine learning or the development of algorithms for artificial intelligence - none of these are possible without human agency. So industrial intelligence also presupposes the need to develop knowledge management systems and train knowledge holders.

The keynote theme of Hannover Messe 2019 underlines the growing importance of artificial intelligence and machine learning in industry and in the energy sector. The topic coverage includes efficient energy use and autonomous production processes, as well as challenges associated with interfaces, protocols and security. Hannover Messe brings together cutting-edge international thinkers working in AI and industry in order to discuss and collaborate on the development of solutions for tomorrow's world. Kckler sums it up as follows: "Management professionals who are responsible for strategic decision-making within their organisations need to engage seriously with all this - the potential benefits and applications, as well as the imminent upheavals. And for that, Hannover Messe 2019 is the ideal platform."

Hannover Messe is the world's leading industrial technology show. With its core focus on "Integrated Industry - Industrial Intelligenc" it provides a comprehensive overview of the latest visions and technologies for the digitisation of production and energy systems. The upcoming Hannover Messe is taking place in Hannover from 1 to 5 April 2019 and will feature six parallel shows: Integrated Automation, Motion & Drives (IAMD), Digital Factory, Energy, Industrial Supply, ComVac and Research & Technology. A total of more than 90 conferences and forums will round off the trade show program. Sweden will be featured as the Partner Country at Hannover Messe 2019.
