Hansford Sensors is sponsoring 18-year-old Tom Ingram in grassroots UK motorsport.
Rising UK motor racing star Tom Ingram, sponsored by Hansford Sensors, has concluded the opening half of his 2012 Ginetta GT Supercup campaign by chalking up his fourth victory of the season. The 18-year-old, who already has two championships under his belt, is now homing in on a third championship win.
Tom has also secured further financial support, plus mentoring by two-time British Touring Car Champion Jason Plato, as a result of his recent induction into the newly-launched KX Akademy. The scheme was set up to help talented young drivers that exhibit exceptional talent and determination, and Tom is one of only two promising competitors to have been selected to benefit from its support.
Tom Ingram says: "It is a tremendous honour and a fantastic opportunity to be picked to join the KX Akademy. Alongside the excellent support we have had from other sponsors, including Hansford Sensors, the financial support of the KX Akademy will allow me to concentrate fully on winning the 2012 Ginetta GT Supercup."
Chris Hansford, Managing Director of Hansford Sensors, says: "It is very satisfying to provide support for Tom and, from a broader perspective, to support UK motorsport at grassroots level. As Tom himself has said, sponsorship enables him to concentrate on being the best driver he can be and, clearly, he is going to be very good indeed."
In just three years of racing, Ingram has won both the 2010 Ginetta Junior Championship and the 2011 Ginetta GT Supercup G50 Championship. The latter was won with two rounds to spare and included 10 wins, 18 podiums, 13 fastest laps and 13 pole positions.
