Heavy-duty plastic plug connectors are sealed to IP68
Phoenix Contact is introducing cost-effective, heavy-duty plastic plug connectors to complement its existing broad family of die-cast aluminium connectors. These plastic connectors are less than half the price of the aluminium alternatives.
The IP68 sealed, sturdy housings mount directly on the side of the equipment and can be assembled without a panel mounting base. For assembly, they instead feature mounting flanges that also accommodate the contact support. Phoenix Contact says the new plastic product is fully compatible with the existing Heavycon Advance connector systems and with industrial standards. When connecting, contact is first made with the standard-compliant protective conductor to ensure safe plugging and operation.
Plugs are made from impact-resistant plastic and feature an integrated cable gland, resulting in a price less than half that of standard aluminium die-cast housings.
