Inertial Aerosystems is launching a new range of high-performance, rugged analogue accelerometers. The 2260 models are designed as cost-effective replacements for piezorestive accelerometers, but with higher accuracy levels, non-ratiometric outputs and insensitivity to temperature variation. The three models offer the most common supply voltages and scale factors used in the automotive and industrial markets. These innovative products incorporate a capacitive sensing element and an advanced ASIC that simulates the operation of a piezorestive bridge and can accommodate shunt calibration.
Features include performance that is insensitive to variations in excitation voltage, temperature and cable resistance. The three models have an operating temperature range of -40 to + 85degC and full-scale acceleration from + or - 5g to + or - 200g.
Suitable for use where space and weight are at a premium, the accelerometers' sensitivity is accurate to 2 per cent (typical) and they are serialised for traceability. Applications include crash testing, vibration monitoring and analysis, machine control and instrumentation, model analysis, robotics and flight testing.
