Hygienic version of icotek cable entry system at Foremost

Foremost Electronics is announcing the new icotec cable entry plate KEL-DPZ 16. The KEL-DPZ 16 fits outbreaks that are standardised for 16-pin heavy-duty connectors. The hygienic design does not create any niches which may collect contamination.

The new size 16 enables simple and fast cable entry. Up to 34 cables, with diameters from 1.5 to 16.2mm, can be inserted and double-sealed in a confined space. Cables without plugs can be quickly and safely inserted into control cabinets and housings, has dual sealing according to IP65/IP66/UL type 12 and protection up to IP66 (certified according to DIN EN 60529: 2000-09). Certifications including as ECOLAB, EN 45545-2 HL3, EN45545-3 E45 / EI30, DNV-GL and others are standard.

Assembly of the KEL-DPZ 16 with cables or pneumatic hoses is simple and fast. Making a small hole in the thin membrane allows cables to be pushed through and the footprint of the KEL-DPZ 16 matches exactly the cut-out dimensions of 16-pin standard industrial connectors.

Cables passing through the KEL-DPZ 16 are automatically sealed and strain relieved and any holes made in the membrane that are no longer required can be filled with icotek ST-B plugs to maintain the IP integrity of the entry plate.

Alan Vincent, Sales Director of Foremost, comments: "The new icotek KEL-DPZ 16 cable entry plates are a cost and time saving alternative to traditional cable glands is ideal for electronic and electromechanical systems and control panels installed in food preparation or storage locations and provides a flexible and reusable cable access point."

Icotek have been developing innovative cable entry and EMC cable shielding systems for over 15 years, hold a number of patents and are designed-in to global OEMs and leading companies in a wide number of industries.

Applications for icotek products include machine tools, railway systems, wind turbines, solar technology, vehicle construction and packaging machines, automation and robotics.

Icotek products now available from Foremost include ATEX and railway cable entry systems specified to EN 45545-3, cable entry frames and glands for cables with connectors fitted, cable entry plates for cables without connectors, brush cable pass-throughs, strain relief and cable management, EMC cable shield clamps and the CONFIX cable conduit system.

Wherever electric lines, pneumatic and hydraulic hoses or optical fibre must be securely routed into a machine, a plant or a control cabinet the icotek systems provide a reliable solution. icotek products provide tight sealing and provide superior strain relief. For applications that have the possibility of extreme contamination by water, dust, vibration or extreme temperatures icotek offer reliable, cost-effective options.
