Hypertac HMD connectors are compact and lightweight

The HMD series is suitable for applications such as communications, displays, in-flight entertainment, monitoring and control systems of both military and civil aircraft, UAVs and all types of aerospace vehicles. It will also find use in transport, marine, industrial, test and measurement equipment, missiles, autosport and other industries where weight and space savings are critical.

Available for both cable-to-cable and PCB-to-cable connections, the HMD connectors are fully sealed with a plastic insulator, while a potted backshell protects the cable terminations and a shrouded insulator prevents the pins from being accidentally damaged. The PCB terminations are also sealed, thereby eliminating the need for masking if a conformal coating is required.

Based on the company's Hyperboloid contact technology, these connectors are available in 5-, 9-, 15-, 21-, 25-, 31-, 37- and 51-way options with 0.60mm diameter contacts and are resistant to shock and vibration. They also eliminate fretting, which reduces wear rates as well as system failures and downtime. HMD PCB connectors have been designed as form-fit replacements for standard micro-D connectors.
