IDS extends its USB 3.0 camera portfolio with three new families

IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH is offering three new USB 3.0 camera families in addition to its very successful USB 3 uEye CP series, which was first introduced to the market in 2011. Whether it's the space-saving first, real single-board USB 3.0 industrial camera or the light yet also robust housed versions: the new families are suitable for all those cost-critical applications in automation, robotics, print and packaging industry, apparatus and medical engineering. Integration and camera handling is easy thanks to USB's Plug&Play and IDS' sophisticated and interface independent Software Suite.

The housed USB 3 uEye LE camera version: focusing on essential features, the camera is cost-effective. The camera is not only very light with its plastic housing, it is also robust enough for industrial environments. It is suitable for a multitude of applications with its C/CS-Mount lens mount, which also allows for wide-angled lenses.

The first real single-board USB 3.0 industrial camera: the USB 3 uEye LE board-level camera is easily integrated thanks to its tiny size, and is hence suitable for embedded systems, medical engineering and instrumentation. The camera also offers exceptional connectivity with its 8 pin connector with 5V power supply, trigger, flash, 2 GPIOs and I2C bus for triggering external devices. Benefit from cost-effective lenses with the board-level version with S-Mount lens mount.

Weighing in at only 41g with a size of 47×46×28mm, the USB 3 uEye ML is suitable for all space-critical applications. Yet the camera also offers all benefits one would expect from a proper industrial camera. The USB 3 uEye ML is suited for a wide range of applications thanks to two GPIOs, opto-decoupled trigger and flash. Its C/CS lens mount allows for a selection of lenses, wide-angle lenses included. Camera integration is particularly easy - based on Plug&Play and USB's one-cable system for data transfer and power supply.

All models are equipped with highly sensitive CMOS sensors from Aptina and e2v with resolutions from 1.3 to 5 Megapixel. In addition, IDS' special implemented sensor features guarantee extra functionality and high-detail accuracy for light and speed-critical applications. e2v's 1.3 Megapixel sensor is also available in a NIR enhanced version.

IDS makes switching from USB 2.0 to USB 3.0 technology easy, thanks to the IDS Software Suite which works for all IDS cameras. In addition, the USB 3 uEye LE features the same footprint as the USB 2.0 model, hence upgrading to future-proof USB 3.0 technology is even easier.

Further information on all USB 3.0 camera families is available on the IDS website at www.ids-imaging.com.
