igus is calling all design engineers to submit details of their latest plastic plain bearing applications for this year's manus awards competition - with a chance to win prize money of EUR5000. The competition is open to companies worldwide and entries must be submitted by 20 February 2015. The winners will be announced during Hannover Fair 2015 in Germany, 13-17 April.
Participants are invited to enter their application online with a short description outlining the previous problem and challenges, as well as a description of the solution and photos and videos of their application. The Gold manus winner will receive a prize of EUR5000, with second and third places receiving EUR2500 and EUR1000, respectively.
The manus awards, which were initially launched in 2003, celebrate innovation. They are a joint initiative with academic partners including the Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe (Institute for composite materials), (Kaiserslautern) and the Fachhochschule Köln (academy Cologne).
