igus will be showcasing its xiros range of bearing products suitable for use in the food and packaging industry and readychain speed pre-harnessed energy chain system at this year's Southern Manufacturing exhibition. Visitors to the stand (stand N74) will also be able to view live product demonstrations and learn how igus can help optimise production processes and reduce costs.
The xiros range of bearings are made of the cost-effective yet high-performance xirodur B180 material, which has FDA approval and, with its self-lubricating and media resistant properties, make it suitable for the food and packaging industry. The material can endure wide ranging temperatures from -40degC and up to +80degC, as well as resist harsh chemicals and corrosive environments.
In high-speed production environments where production downtime is costly, spare sub-assemblies are often kept in-stock to enable quick swap out should damage occur. All of the different connections in the readychain speed energy chain, be it for fibre optic, control, servo, data cables and pneumatic lines, are pre-harnessed into a single hybrid modular connector, which can then be quickly and easily latched into position without the need for specialist tools, reducing machinery downtime significantly.
During the show, experts from igus will be on hand to provide visitors with advice and guidance on selecting igus products for their own specific application.
