igus will be showcasing its new readychain rack "˜light' delivery system, additional high-performance stock materials, intelligent cable stripping, and drylin-E linear drives ready-assembled with motors at Southern Manufacturing on stand N74. Visitors to the stand will be able to see live demonstrations of the maintenance-free plastic components from igus, learning how they can help optimise processes and reduce costs.
On show will be the new igus readychain rack "˜light'; with a frame thickness of only 40 millimetres, it is only half the size of the original readychain rack, so is useful for smaller applications. The modular system of telescopic supports and braces allows the igus readychain rack "˜light' to be pre-assembled for an igus energy chain harness, allowing it to be delivered and fitted quickly and easily. This fast turnaround enables machine and plant engineers to reduce their process costs by up to 80 per cent in the prototype phase, and up to 50 per cent over the complete assembly process.
iglidur stock bar and plate materials will also be highlight during the show. One of the igus range of stock bars is iglidur P210; this self-lubricating material can run at temperatures up to 160degC and operate at a surface pressure of 50MPa. Available in 30mm diameter, the iglidur P210 material joins the range of stock bar materials offered with diameters of up to 100mm. Online configuration tools offer complete design freedom, with easy entry of all design parameters needed to identify best materials and other data for machining. This is suitable for prototypes, test parts and low volume requirements.
The new iglidur J stock plate material allows designers to obtain machined parts such as wear plates and strips easily and cost effectively with less waste. It comes in sheets rather than the standard round bars, and is available in thicknesses ranging from 2mm to 25mm. It boasts low coefficients of friction in dry operation, low moisture absorption, low wear and good chemical resistance, while requiring absolutely no maintenance. It is also suitable for parts that need to withstand temperatures from -50degC to 120degC.
The igus CFRIP range, which now extends to over 230 cable types, will also be available. This is an intelligent option for cable stripping in which the outer jacket can be unzipped to the desired length simply by pulling the special CFRIP tear strip. Long stripback lengths can be achieved in half the time with no damage to the inner core insulation. As with the chainflex family, CFRIP offers millions of cycles of movement in e-chains, guaranteed.
igus will also be showing its linear drive systems; drylin-E with polymer bearings complete with a NEMA-certified motor. The compact, light and quiet system is available ex-stock, individually configured to the required length. It can be bought in as a single complete item, ready to fit. By building up the unit using standard igus parts, the delivery lead time is very fast; a typical system can be delivered in 3 to 5 days.
During the show, experts from igus will be on hand to provide advice and guidance on selecting energy chains, bearings and cabling assemblies for your own specific application.
