IMI Precision Engineering launches electric actuators
Designed to reduce energy consumption and total cost of ownership, IMI Precision Engineering's new range of IMI Norgren ELION electric actuators will be unveiled at Hannover Messe.
According to the company, the new actuators are well suited to applications within the automotive, packaging and labelling, materials handling, machine tool, and food and beverage sectors. The innovative IMI Norgren ELION actuators increase levels of precise, repeatable control and accurate positioning for industrial users.
Acceleration and deceleration control also enables the cylinders to glide into position without stopping abruptly, making IMI Norgren ELION useful for applications where vibrations and disruptive movement are not acceptable. Multiple actuators can move in sync and change speed without the need to stop or overrun a position.
Designed to be dimensionally compatible with ISO 15552 pneumatic cylinders, the ELION electric actuator offers the in-built flexibility of multiple intermediate positions, ensuring acceleration and speed are controllable and predictable.
Clean and quiet
The absence of compressed air also offers cleaner, quieter motion and a significant reduction in energy consumption and running costs.
IMI Precision Engineering is able to offer a complete electric actuator system through its collaboration with market-leading servo motor manufacturer Control Techniques. Customers can benefit from a single point of contact for electric actuation, alongside motors, drives and a range of accessories to suit individual applications.

The IMI Norgren ELION rod-style electric actuator range will launch in April 2019, with a rodless option available in autumn 2019.
