ifm electronic is launching the IN5409 valve position sensor, which is a new version of the IND valve sensor that is even more robust than its predecessors and designed specifically easy connection.
The terminal chamber at the back is reached by loosening two captive screws adjacent to the twin glanded entries. The cable glands themselves are dimensioned to allow the attachment of steel-armoured cable, as is often required with such installations.
With the glands at the back and a removable terminal block, the IN5409 can also serve as a terminal block for the solenoid connection. Should the sensor ever need to be changed, the terminal block and cover can remain in place to save time.
If the marking on the puck is insufficient, bright LEDs on the top of the unit, visible from almost any direction, show the valve's position.
Technical highlights of the IN5409 include IP67 protection and an operating temperature range of -25 to 80degC. The unit operates on a DC supply of 10-30V, providing two PNP position signals. Follow the link for more information about the IN5409 valve position sensor.
