Stemmer Imaging is introducing the JAI Spark SP-20000M-PMCL and JAI Spark SP-20000C-PMCL high-performance monochrome and colour 20 megapixel industrial cameras. These cameras operate at 30 frames per second and their combination of speed and resolution makes them suitable for persistent surveillance, border security, aerial mapping, and other outdoor applications.
Incorporating the CMOSIS CMV20000 imager, the Spark series of cameras offer full frame resolution of 5120 x 3840 pixels with a dual CameraLink interface capable of supporting multiple data rates in either Medium or Full configurations. Power can be supplied through the CameraLink connectors using a dual-channel-powered frame grabber, or can be provided via the separate 12-pin connector.
Outstanding image quality with the highest degree of pixel uniformity results from the CMOSIS 8-transistor (8T) pixel architecture, while an industry-leading 1:50,000 light rejection ratio gives clean images with sharp contrast. Additional in-camera correction routines are claimed to provide significant reductions in pattern noise over previous generations of CMOS cameras.
Outdoor applications particularly benefit from features such as automatic level control (ALC) that links shutter and gain for best exposures under changing light conditions, and a built-in dual-slope high dynamic range mode for high-contrast imaging. An extended operating range of -45 to +70degC enables the camera to handle a variety of harsh temperature environments.
The SP-20000 has user-defined single and multiple region-of-interest (ROI) capabilities providing image capture flexibility with higher frame rates. Monochrome models include horizontal and vertical binning for increased sensitivity. All models support horizontal and vertical mirroring.
