Infrared pyrometers are affordable for on-line applications
Megatech is introducing a new range of affordable non-contact self-contained infrared pyrometers manufactured by Process Sensors of the USA. Designated the Metis range, the products are designed for precision on-line process temperature measurement. Incorporating digital signal processing technology, these innovative devices are claimed to offer better performance than standard analogue pyrometers where accuracy, repeatability and wide temperature ranges are concerned.
The precision adjustable optics allow the pinpointing of very small targets and feature advanced sightings capabilities through the lens, laser or video. A variety of spectral responses is available for addressing the needs of specific temperature measurement applications such as metals, glass, semiconductor, vacuum, ceramics, plastics and composites.
An IP65 extruded aluminium housing provides for easy installation on to a swivel base, adjustable bracket or within a companion heavy-duty water cooling jacket for use in harsh environments.
The pyrometers provide analogue and digital signals such as 4-20mA, 0-20mA, RS232, RS485 and Profibus. Optionally the series offers an integral easy-to-read LED display, dual relays or fibre-optic versions for use in high-temperature environments, confined spaces or high magnetic RF fields.
