Inside the steel core of Mechan Control's safety switches

IP67 & IP69K rating 'ideal' for food processing, pharmaceutical, beverage & petro-chemical industries

Inside the steel core of Mechan Control's safety switches

Mechan Controls boasts one the largest ranges of stainless steel non-contact safety switches in the world. Each switch is individually cast in 316 grade stainless steel, which is extremely robust and sturdy.

All stainless steel switches are IP67 & IP69K rated, reports the company, “making them ideal for food processing, pharmaceutical, beverage & petro-chemical industries”. All of Mechan’s safety switches achieve CAT4 SIL3 and PL-e.

With the standard plastic non-contact safety switches, the stainless steel range has the exact same fixing centres, which makes swapping out a plastic version for a stainless steel version very simple.

Magnet and reed operated switches

This is Mechan’s most popular range of safety switch. “Due to its value for money and reliability, it fits perfectly within today’s growing companies where cost is a consideration.”

Solid state coded magnetically operated switches

Mechan’s HE range is versatile and robust, it offers better protection from shock and vibration due it being a solid state switch. With an LED incorporated into the HE range design, this makes it easier to fault find. Finally a medium to high level range of coding will significantly reducing the risk of defeatability.

4 billion uniquely coded RFID operated switches

The RSSG stainless steel is Mechan’s most secure safety switch in their arsenal. The RSSG is a coded RFID switch that is uniquely coded to a specific actuator. This means that a switch and actuator will only work with each other, the parts are not interchangeable unless you know how to re-code the switch.

This extremely high level of coding mixed with a robust 316 stainless steel exterior makes for an amazing feat of machine safety, it offers 4 billion individual codes which eliminates the chance of a code replication anywhere in the world.
