Gefran is introducing the SIEIDrive KFM 05, an integrated motor with frequency inverter drive, encoder feedback and axis I/O suitable for simple, low-power, single-axis motion control applications. The compact unit includes an RS232 port for programming, parameter set-up and diagnostics using Gefran's E@syDrives PC-based configuration software, as well as an optional Profibus-DP interface for full axis control.
The KFM 05 is aimed at medium-precision motion and speed control applications where full servomotor-based systems would be unnecessarily expensive. The integrated design enables extremely straightforward installation with minimal wiring and, as all filtering is included, full EMC compliance is guaranteed.
With a 230V AC, 50Hz single-phase supply, the IP54-rated unit is available in a choice of four- and six-pole versions to provide up to 2.8Nm of torque at 1750rpm with generous overload ratings. An IP44-rated four-pole force-cooled version is available for torques to 1.9Nm and speeds to 2550rpm. The KFM 05 includes a standard B14 IEC mounting flange for straightforward gearbox interfacing.
The fully integrated design includes a complement of 24V opto-isolated axis I/O that can be used to trigger pre-programmed positions, vary acceleration/deceleration and change speeds. External speed control and other analogue functions are possible using on-board analogue inputs. There is also a six-LED display for indicating operational status and diagnostics.
Gefran can supply the KFM 05 with a variety of connector interfacing options and the unit may be fitted with a DC- or AC-actuated holding brake.
