InterVision Global wins £560,000 grant to develop automation

InterVision Global, which specialises in inline machine vision inspection systems, has commenced a 22-month programme involving research and development of an innovative automated identification verification and inspection system for the medical sector. In recognition of the innovation and technology advances, InterVision Global has been awarded a highly prized matched grant of 560,000 (USD815,000/EUR725,000). This funding was secured in the face of stiff competition, with InterVision Global being one of just 36 companies to receive funding out of a total of almost 200 applications.

Discussions with early adopters indicate that if trials prove successful, this innovative flexible automated production system will remove manufacturing process risks, significantly increase production throughput and greatly reduce time to market for orthopaedic medical device manufacturers. One of the significant benefits of the proposed system will be the machine's ability to change between products without the need for revalidation of the machine, which will save manufacturers significant time when bringing new products to market.

InterVision Global is collaborating in this project with the MTC (Manufacturing Technology Centre), which is a world leader in cutting-edge technology development.

Mark Worlidge, Managing Director of InterVision Global, states: "For our project to be recognised and rewarded with this level of backing is recognition of our forward thinking and innovation. We are delighted to be given the support of Innovate UK and are confident that our unique and innovative ideas will be converted into an industry-leading solution in the manufacture of orthopaedic implants".
