InvenSense ICP-10100 MEMS barometric pressure sensor at Mouser

The InvenSense ICP-10100 single-axis pressure sensor achieves the industry's lowest pressure noise of 0.4Pa RMS and lowest power consumption of 1.3uA at 1Hz. The tiny MEMS sensor measures very small pressure differences of +/-1Pa, which enables the device to detect altitude changes of less than 5cm. The sensor offers a full pressure operating range of 30 to 110kPa, and ensures excellent temperature stability with a temperature coefficient of +/-0.5Pa per degree Celsius.

This pressure sensor has an embedded temperature sensor and 400kHz I2C bus for communication. In addition to the device's low-power mode of 1.3¼A at a noise of 3.2Pa, the ICP-10100 features a low-noise mode of 0.8Pa while only consuming 5.2¼A for high-performance applications. The small 2mm × 2mm × 0.72mm device includes an IPX8-rated housing, making it waterproof to a depth of 1.5m for up to 30 minutes.

For evaluation, the sensor is supported by the DK-10100 SmartMotion Platform Development Kit. The kit is based on a Microchip G55 microcontroller and comes with necessary software, including InvenSense MotionLink, a GUI-based development tool, and embedded Motion Drivers (eMD) for ICP-10100. The DK-10100 includes an onboard embedded debugger, removing the need for external tools to program or debug the G55 microcontroller.

The combination of high accuracy, low power, temperature stability, and waterproofing in a small footprint enables improved activity identification, mobile indoor and outdoor navigation, altitude-hold in drones, and extended battery life of always-on motion-sensing applications.
