There are many advantages when moving a machine's power supply out of the cabinet and onto the machine, close to where it is needed. To help machine builders make the transition to decentralised power, Murrelektronik's engineers have put together a series of downloads, outlining the features of the company's IP67 power supplies and the benefits of on-machine power.
Murrelektronik's Impulse customer magazine contains an article about the Emparro67 Hybrid IP67 power supplies. These switched mode power supplies feature integrated load circuit monitoring and an IO-Link interface. In addition, they withstand extreme environmental conditions and can be installed directly in the field, next to the loads.
Power loss is minimised because the voltage is converted from 230V AC to 24V DC directly at the load. Further financial savings are possible because the control cabinet can be smaller or, in some cases, eliminated altogethr.
Follow the link to download the comprehensive Emparro67 Hybrid product brochure. This 12-page publication has a wealth of information about the robust, vibration-resistant, fully potted power supplies. The brochure provides full technical data, as well as detailing the practical features and benefits that set these on-machine power supplies apart from more conventional alternatives.
A free white paper Why move the power supply out of the control panel? discusses the benefits of moving power supplies out of the control cabinet and onto the machine. Most importantly, it looks at the cost implications and the advantages of a decentralised power concept.
