Jetter AG presents new and open industrial automation system

Jetter is heading to Nuremberg with a new high-performance JetControl controller, two new servo amplifier series as well as new HMI and IPC ranges. Each of them incorporates open standards that enable free integration. Also new to the product portfolio of Jetter AG is the motion control unit JetControl 480MC. It is the first Jetter controller to use the EtherCAT standard as the system bus. The JetControl 480MC also has a CANopen interface. These two standards allow modules of other manufacturers to be connected.

Jens Peter Tomaschko (responsible Product Manager) explains: "We have integrated various bus systems into the new control unit. We have therefore opened up the system all round, a novelty for Jetter." An integrated JX3 system bus interface enables the existing JX3 peripheral modules to be connected directly to the controller. EthernetIP and PROFINET modules also enable the connection of Jetter systems to the worlds of Siemens and Rockwell.

The power range of the JetControl 480MC closes the gap between the two motion control units JC-360MC and JC-940MC. Jetter's family of JetControl controllers for industrial automation tasks is thus complete. Jetter AG will present the JetControl 480MC for the first time in Nuremberg; the controller will be available from the first quarter of 2014.

With the JM-1000 and JM-3000, Jetter AG will present the next generation of its servo amplifier family JetMove in November. The new models supplement the JM-100 and JM-200 series, which have been tried and tested in many areas of application for years. The JM-1000 is a single-axis system, while the JM-3000 has multiple axis modules. This allows the creation of an individual, compact and high-performance, multi-axis coordinated motion system.

Jetter's developers rely on high-performance bus standards for communication. The fast real-time EtherCAT protocol allows the high-performance, synchronous control of all axes via master interface. The ability to subject the new generation of servo amplifiers to high overloads permits highly dynamic acceleration procedures, even with small JetMove sizes.

Product manager Gunther Raila explains: "The JM-3000 utilises the regenerative energy via the DC link circuit, which helps to reduce a system's ongoing operating costs." Wiring is simplified by the optional HIPERFACE DSL interface. Thanks to their compact dimensions and handy cable connections, the JetMoves can be integrated directly into the machine, reducing assembly and installation costs. The JetSym automation portal has a motion GUI that provides the machine operator with all the necessary information in a clear format. JetSym also allows centralised access via the controller to all connected components and thus rapid system diagnostics, as well as convenient remote maintenance. Machine downtimes are reduced to a minimum.

Jetter AG will also present its new multitouch control panels in widescreen format at the exhibition. The latest HMIs of the JetView family are available in 5" to 22" and will be presented in a completely new design. For the first time, the Jetter HMIs have a real glass multitouch surface and, together with the JetViewSoft operating software, ensure intuitive operation. Thanks to the ARM processor technology, power consumption is significantly lower compared with conventional models. In the Jetter industrial PCs, computing power is provided by an Intel CoreT i5 or i7 processor.

Visitors to the exhibition will find Jetter AG in Hall 7 at Stand 106. For further details about the JetControl controller, new servo amplifier series and new HMI and IPC please visit www.jetter.de.
