Diamond Point International is appointing John Vaines as managing director with effect from 30 November 2008. Vaines has held the post of deputy managing director for the last two years, responsible for the management of Diamond Point's worldwide sales and marketing operations.
Prior to this Vaines was for eight years UK country manager at SBS Technologies, one of the leading designers and manufacturers of open-architecture embedded computer products. Before that he held the position of sales manager at Diamond Point.
Sherman Kemmer, who will be taking more of a back seat after 12 years as managing director, says: "As we continue to expand our operations in the embedded systems market, it is timely that John should move up to steer the company through challenging times. John has proved to be an essential member of our sales and marketing management team and our growth under his guidance has been strong over the last two years, especially in the important military embedded systems market. I am confident that under John's leadership our strategy for even higher growth in the future will be realised."
John Vaines says: "Taking over the helm of Diamond Point is an exciting opportunity. Through its longevity and focus on customer service, Diamond Point has established an enviable reputation for reliability.
"The company is capable of delivering fully integrated in-house design solutions as well as enabling customers to design advanced systems both in the commercial and military environments using the latest computing and communications technologies. My aim is to further reinforce this capability and maintain the company's position at the forefront of industrial embedded computing technology. I look forward to the new challenge."
