JVL's popular MAC800 integrated servo motor has now been UL recognised according to UL (Underwriters Laboratories Inc) standard UL508C (Power Conversion Equipment) and related sub-standards. The UL508C standard covers fundamental personal safety and precautions to avoid overheating and fire.
To meet the requirements of UL508C, multiple temperature measurement points must be monitored with nominal load on the motor and temperatures must remain below certain limits. In addition, internal creepage and clearances must fulfil certain requirements. A long list of other criteria must also be fulfilled.
Based on customer feedback and the fact that the world is getting smaller and smaller, JVL realised some years ago that international approvals such as UL are becoming more and more important.
JVL is currently seeing a major increase in demand from customers in Europe and the USA for products with UL recognition. JVL says it will continue to maintain its focus on introducing products with UL approvals - and other international approvals - to ensure that its remains the preferred supplier for integrated motors and related products.
MAC800 products with the UL recognition mark will be available from March 2007.
