At the 2007 Mtec exhibition, Kistler is showing the Mini-Smart torque sensor, which is just one of a wide range of piezoelectric and strain gauge torque sensors resulting from the combining of the Kistler and Staiger Mohilo product ranges in 2006.
The Mini-Smart is a strain gauge torque sensor in which the torque signal is transmitted from the rotating shaft via frequency modulation and is processed as an analogue signal. The rotational angle signal, with two tracks, each of 360 pulses per revolution, is available as a TTL-signal. An external electrical calibration input is installed as standard.
Kistler's Mini-Smart torque sensor with rotating measuring shaft is suitable for dynamic detection of starting torque, as well as breakaway torque for bolting and assembly operations, and quality assurance in production and laboratory environments.
Due to its standardised connections, the device can be quickly adapted to use with air-powered, electronic and pulse tools.
