Knight Warner becomes ABB robotics partner

Knight Warner, an automation systems integrator that lists Nestle Purina, Corus and TetraPak amongst its clients, has joined ABB's Robotic Partner Network. The company, formed almost nine years ago, provides bespoke automated systems for different industries including the food industry and the cement and steel industries.

Alan Spreckley, Channel Partner Manager for ABB Robotics, says: "We welcome Knight Warner as an ABB Robotics partner. They will add expertise in developing bespoke automation systems for demanding applications employed by large companies. They have an experienced mechanical handling team with a lot of experience in robotics and bespoke machine design.

"By adding Knight Warner to our extensive partnership network we can continue to offer customers robotic systems suitable for a wide range of applications."

Pete Warner, founder and Sales and Marketing Director of Knight Warner, is keen on making the most of ABB's robots: "We will have access to ABB's wide range of products, which we plan to make use of for picking, packing and palletising applications.

"We will also gain from its extensive experience. ABB has learned a lot over the last few years, having worked with many different partners on different projects. Some may think that having lots of partners may create competition, but it can also be beneficial. All the partners benefit from such wide-ranging experience as we can effectively dip into a melting pot of knowledge."

Warner has found that his clients are becoming increasingly aware of the benefits of using robots for automation: "We are finding that customers have a good understanding of robot automation. Robotics is recognised in the industry as one of the few ways of cutting costs long-term, but investment still remains a big decision. But once customers put their first robot in they do not look back."
