Kuka Automation + Robotics has further strengthened its UK sales team with the appointment of a new robot sales specialist to develop business in new target markets. Mike Barnett brings almost three decades' of sales and technical support experience to his new position. He will be responsible for targeting new business in the electronics and pharmaceutical industries as well as expanding sales in the plastics and composites sectors.
Barnett has extensive expertise in the extrusion equipment market thanks to previous sales management roles at Renmar Machinery and MIR. He comments: "I am delighted to join Kuka at a time when the company is expanding its operations because of the substantial growth in demand for industrial robots. Automation is the way forward for the UK manufacturing sector if it is to compete effectively against competition from the Far East."
Kuka has recently opened a new facility near its Halesowen headquarters for its spares and aftersales support operation, as well as the assembly and testing of robot cells. Visitors to MACH 2008 will be able to find out more about Kuka's latest developments on stand 4895, Hall 4, at Birmingham's NEC from 21-25 April.
