New enclosure solution favours harsh working environments

Norstat is offering an IP69K Ecolab food-graded enclosure that allows light curtains and light grids to be used in harsh working environments with exposure to water and steam.

The WTF/WTHF enclosures are constructed of PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) and are completely transparent. The come with POM-C sealing caps and have an anti-condensation system that uses integrated Gore valves, which drains off any humidity, thereby removing potentially problematic condensation.

No residuals remain

“Thanks to the inert [non-toxic] components, no residuals are left when the light curtains are washed down or when they come directly in contact with food,” says Norstat. “This makes WTF and WTHF enclosures ideal for the food & beverage industry where frequent washdown procedures are required.”

The enclosures are 56 mm in diameter, capable of withstanding up to 80bar of water jet pressure at a temperature of 80°C and carry a protection rating of IP69K. The WTHF (Heated) version has a thermostatically-controlled heating system and can work down to -25° C. Electrical connection is via 10m cable, pre-wired with cable gland. Fastening is by 2 x M6 stainless steel screws (not included).
