Lightweight profiles feature wider grooves for thicker panels

The latest Item extruded aluminium profiles from Machine Building Systems, the UK distributor, feature wider grooves to accommodate panels up to 14mm thick. Panels fit tight against one side of the groove and are both secured and sealed using a lip seal extrusion.

Profile 8 F14 light has two conventional grooves on opposite faces and two 16mm wide grooves on the other two faces. Profile 8 80x40 light has conventional grooves in four of the normal positions and one pair of wide grooves facing each other, making it suitable as a vertical strut in enclosure and guarding structures.

A useful feature of the new profiles is that the bottom of the wide grooves is flat, so even thick panels will seat comfortably in the slot.
