Low-cost modular guarding can be installed by users
Manufacturing companies and suppliers of factory automation are under increasing pressure to cut costs, but this must be achieved without compromising safety. Perimeter guarding of small assembly cells, larger robotic cells and complete production lines is one area where it is easy to compare costs between suppliers of systems that are, on the face of it, very similar. However, the purchase price of the components should not be considered in isolation, as the installation costs will vary considerably, depending on the detailed design of the components and fasteners, and whether the installation is carried out by the buyer or supplier.
