LSS to distribute RPS NEO800 3D printer in Germany

RPS has appointed German company LSS Laser Sinter Service GmbH as its first distributor for the NEO800 production stereolithography system.

Founded in 2002, and having its operational base in Holzwickede near Dortmund, today LSS is a supplier of both plastic laser sintering (PLS) and metal laser sintering (MLS) equipment and materials. Now the company has been named by RPS as its first distributor supplying the NEO800 stereolithography system into the German 3D printing market.

Guido Elbrecht, founder and managing director of LSS, said the distribution agreement was a natural fit: "We already have a good partnership with RPS on the service side of our business and with DSM Somos in stereolithography materials, so adding the NEO800 stereolithography hardware to our portfolio of 3D printing products makes good business sense.

"We have an excellent understanding of the additive manufacturing market and technologies in central Europe and operate within many key industry sectors including automotive, high-end engineering and product design, which gives us a distinct advantage in introducing the NEO800 to this market."

Benefits of NEO800

The NEO800, launched by RPS at the TCT Show in September 2016, is claimed to offer best-in-class, exceptional part sidewall quality, with a scanning resolution to within 1 micron, which significantly reduces finishing time by up to 50 per cent. As an open resin system it is compatible with all 355nm SL resins and has an impressive print area of 800 x 800 x 600mm, which is 30 per cent larger than competitive systems with similar footprints. Designed for production, the NEO800 runs 24/7/365 with minimum intervention to maximise uptime.

RPS Director David Storey says that driving the growth of NEO800 sales in the European market had always been a long-term plan for RPS: "Appointing LSS as our first distributor is a very positive step and we are ramping up production of the NEO800 units in line with market share expectations.

"We see this as a strong distribution partnership. Like RPS, the company has been operating in the 3D printing market for over 10 years and has in-depth market knowledge and customer relationships already in place, so we are very positive about where this will lead."

Both companies will be jointly exhibiting at formnext, Frankfurt on 14-17 November 2017. Visit LSS and RPS in Hall 3.1, stand number E31. For more information, go to www.lss-europe.com and www.rpsupport.co.uk.
